TUCKERTON FAMILY DAY: Joe Lutz read the list of donations from the local and generous merchants: Tuckerton Liquors, CostCo, B.J.’s Whole Sale Club, Parsons Seafood, Lee’s Emergency Equipment., Atlantic City Jewelry, Inc, Robert E. Food donations from Stewarts Dockside Café’ ,B & B Produce, Village Shops, Sco -Jo’s, Tuckerton Beach Grill, and Grapevine Restaurant, Panini Bay, Maritime Marine and Dynasty Diner. A Yankee Candle Reed Diffuser donated by Grace DiElmo. Joe will visit Carvels again, he is certain they will donate gift certificates as they have been very generous with those in past years. Gail stated she has a large corn pot for the committee to use during the picnic. Joe will pick that up within the next day or two. Joe would like to provide music over the loud speakers, perhaps country or patriotic songs. He will call out door prizes as well. Grace and Jenny will be at the entrance gate and will need a table to take the tickets. A sign will be necessary to direct public downstairs. Since this is the 2nd year at the Seaport, most people will know the direction of the picnic.
Tim Hart and Paul Hart representing the Tuckerton Seaport were in attendance this evening. Councilman Bill Marshall joined the meeting as well. Mr. Bill thought that Sue would share the donation list from the 4th of July Committee along with the Pride & Celebrations as it is substantial and he is positive the same merchants would donate to the Tuckerton Day cause. It seems the same businesses give very generously every year.
Joe asked Mr. Hart about the bar b q grills and made sure we had fire extinguishers on hand as the burgers produce a lot of grease. Chris asked if there were enough tables, and Mr. Hart stated not to bring any tables, there are many available for use. Joe explained his daughters will do face painting and they will need to provide a table in the shade for that activity.
Tim spoke about possibility of “Rain”, and Paul said there are 3 canvas tent covers in case of inclement weather. Paul suggested the face painting should be inside, because the cool weather, the paint dries up under the sun. All the food will be in a tent, Paul replied, as last year. There are table covers available. Joe stated we also need electric for the snow cone machine. Chris stated he will bring a long cooler for additional ice. Paul suggested to locate the snow cone machine as well as face painting.
Joe will bring supplies over on Friday during the day. Councilman Bill offered his help. Gail said Thank You to Joe for all his running around, shopping for supplies and asking for donations from the local commerce.
